In a unique way of honoring Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of nonviolent protest, students helped turn guns into gardening tools outside the Palmer Museum of Art Thursday afternoon.

RAWtools, Inc. aims to repurpose weapons into useful tools to nurture life, forging a message of life instead of violence. The executive director, Mike Martin , and his crew set up a forge outside the Palmer Museum of Art . Students stopped by to hammer gun metal into different garden tools on display, and one professor brought her freshman seminar to the setup.
