Handheld candles lit up the faces of dozens of students, faculty and community members at the Allen Street Gates on Monday.

Standing At The Gates For Justice, a local movement, focused its weekly 4 p.m. gathering on those killed in last Thursday’s shooting. Ben Wideman, campus pastor for 3rd Way Collective, is a leader of the group.

“Today’s vigil was specifically focused on the loss of lives that happened here in our community on Thursday night,” Wideman said. “Honoring the victims, remembering their lives [and] dealing with the fact that gun violence is a part of all of us.”
